Discover the secrets of Arequipa, the historical centre is constructed of volcanic sillar rock, it represents an integration of European techniques and characteristics and native construction, this combination of influences is illustrated by solid walls, arches of the city and vaults, courtyards and open spaces, and the intricate Baroque decoration of its facades.
The city is located at an altitude of 2328 masl, the lowest part of the city is found at an altitude of 2041 masl in the sector known as el Huayco (avalanche), in the district of Uchumayo and the highest is located at 2810 masl. The Chili River goes through the centre of the city from north to south, its path forms a valley called the valley of Arequipa or Chili Valley.
Colca Canyon First Day: Arequipa – Chivay
The mobility passes by the various hotels to pick up or clients for our trip to one of the deepst canyons in the world, taking the road of Yura bordering with the cnowy peak of Chachani to Pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas) habitat of the beautiful South American vicuna camelids. In the wetlands of tocra we can appreciate a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. We pass by the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We stop at the viewpoint of the volcano, which is also the highest point of the trail (4,800 meters) from where we will see a great part of the Cordillera.

15:00 The mobility will transfer us towards the picturesque village of Coporaque, from where we begina hike of approximately 2 hours. We willl enjoy the beautiful landscapes and nature on this side of the valley, such as a pre-incan cemetery in the folds of the mountains.
17 :00 After the hike we can enjoy the hot springs in La Calera, whose medicinal waters range between 35º to 38º degrees Celsius in the pools.
20: 00 Dinner accompanied by a folkloric show.
Colca Canyon Second Day: Chivay – Cruz del Condor – Chivay – Arequipa
06:00 Continental breakfast
06:30 We head to the viewpoint of Cruz del Condor, a strategic observation point of the canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. On the way back we visit the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque ; which have beautiful colonial churches, as well as viewpoints of choquetico and Antahuilque, where we can observe the impressive terraces of the valley, tombs and preinca models.

- On this excursion it is necessary to bring warm clothes as the climate in the Colca Canyon is generally cold, especially in winter time (June to September) when the temperatures drop at night.
- You should keep in mind that we are traveling to considerably high altitudes, 2300m to 4800 m at the highest point. 3600 m in the valley where we overnight).
- If you take this tour at a different time of year you can bring light clothes for the mornings, though for the afternoons it is recommended that you bring a coat. It is also suggested to have a rain poncho if you visit Colca during the summer. (December to March):
