All year. Passing through the rich pastoral regions of the Urubamba range we cross snowy peaks and subtropical valleys, along the way we enjoy scenic lagoons, natural thermal baths, Inca remains. Being a remote place the area has allowed its people to preserve traditions of Flame and Alpaca wool, the cultivation of potatoes and the fabric of colorful garments made by hand and with Inca motifs. This tour is experiential since you can see up close the customs and the experiences of the Andean settler.
Day 01: CUSCO – LARES – WACAHUASI.
Transfer from the hotel at 5 am approx. Then head to the town of Lares on the way we can appreciate the majestic sacred valley with its fertile lands, then we arrive at the small village of calca (2,940 masl) passing through the small villages of Totora and Maucaupata where the villagers dress with their Typical costumes, and are engaged in mostly textile, agriculture and livestock.
Finally, after a trip of approx. 4 hours we arrive at Lares (3,200 m.s.n.m.) visit to the thermal baths to take a refreshing bath. After lunch after having contacted our muleteers we started the trek arriving at our first camp in 4 hours Wacahasi (3,600 m.s.n.m.).
Day 02: WACAHUASI -IPSAYCOCHA – PATACANCHA.
After breakfast we started the trek to our second camp. This day we started early as we ascended through the Abra Ipsay on the way we will appreciate different peasant communities as well as different customs and textiles that they weave for their daily use. We will arrive to the lagoon of Ipsaycocha place where will be the lunch, after a siesta we will continue towards the locality of Patacancha where we will spend the second night.
Day 03: PATACANCHA -WILLOQ -OLLANTAYTAMBO.
After breakfast we will continue our walk towards the small town of Willoq population with original customs we will also pass through small villages during the course of our walk we will be able to observe the archaeological remains of Qochapata and Pumamarca. Approximately at 2:00 pm we will arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, after lunch we will have free time until 7:30 pm then board the train to Aguas Calientes we will spend the last night in a lodging with private bathroom and hot water.
Day 04: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO.
Very early we will leave for the Inca city of Machupicchu to see the sunrise and then have the guided tour of approximately 2 and a half hours, after which we will have free time, according to the train ticket will go down to Aguas Calientes to tackle the Train back to Cusco.
The tour includes:
- Transport bus cusco-calca-lares.
